Day Patient Program |
Frequency/duration |
1 day a week for 20 weeks |
Who is it for |
For people who have long term difficulties caused by unhelpful patterns of thought, feelings and behaviour. This can include people who contend with symptoms such as extreme emotional and interpersonal sensitivity, fears of abandonment, rapid mood changes, self-destructive and self-harming behaviours, problems with a sense of self and experiencing life and relationships as chaotic. |
About the program |
Schema Therapy is a treatment program incorporating principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, interpersonal, dynamic and experiential approaches. It focuses on deeper personality change, rather than rapid symptom relief. In intensive weekly sessions over a period of time determined by the patient's progress, patients are assisted to identify and address long term patterns at the core of their difficulties. |
